What is the Peep Progression Pathway?

The Peep Progression Pathway is a qualification, made up of qualification units (sometimes referred to as ‘programmes’ or ‘courses’) that are offered through your local Peep sessions. These units are offered on a wide variety of topics relating to the development of your child(ren) and the learning they do every day at home with you.

Who can do it?

The units are open to everyone and are recognised on a framework called the SCQF (Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework), which explains the different levels of learning.

The units are offered at three different levels – SCQF Level 3, 4 and 5 (more information on the levels are available from your Peep practitioner)

What do I need to do?

  • Attend the Peep sessions with your baby/child
  • Work your way through completing a keepsake book showing how you and your baby/ child(ren) learn together.
Your Peep practitioner will provide you with a keepsake book. You are welcome to take it home to work on – please remember to bring it back the following week!
  • If you need extra support with anything, (including with reading and writing) please feel free to have a chat with your Peep practitioner.

Feedback from Peep Progression Pathway Parents:

I really enjoyed finding out about how your child is learning so much from what you do with them at home”

It was good and focussed on our day- to-day activities. We enjoyed it a lot, my son became more confident and he is now able to speak in sentences”

Peep has helped me understand different stages of development and emotions my child might be going through”

After not doing any written work in a long time I have been amazed at myself and how well I’ve done”

What happens at the end of the course?

Once you have completed your keepsake book, and the Peep practitioner has checked it over, your details will be registered to receive a certificate.

After the course you could progress on to:

  • another unit in a Peep session at the same level, or move on to a higher level
  • co-deliver Peep sessions
  • volunteering
  • attend further education (college etc)
  • employment.
