Working with families

Peep Programmes help parents, practitioners and organisations to achieve the best outcomes for young children by sharing child development information and ideas.

During the first five years, children’s brains grow and change faster than they ever will again.  By working together, during pregnancy and beyond, we can support children’s home learning environments and improve their lifelong opportunities.

The little things that families do together in everyday life, like chatting, playing, singing, and sharing books and stories, make a big difference to children’s development.

How we help

As a charity, we develop evidence-based programmes for using with families in groups or one-to-one, to support learning and improve children’s outcomes through everyday life and play.

We train and support professionals – in organisations and local authorities across the UK, Ireland, Australia and beyond – to use Peep programmes with parents, carers, babies and young children.

We extend adult learning by offering accreditation for practitioners and qualification units for parents.

We work directly with families in our local community around the Peeple Centre, and collaborate with professionals, researchers and policy makers near and far.

Peep Programmes

In this short video you can find out more about Peep and going to a Peep Learning Together group.

Our other programmes include Peep Antenatal, Peep TALK and our new Peep Families Connect. We are currently piloting our Peep Exploring Together STEM programme. Practitioners can also offer qualification units to parents and carers, through the Peep Progression Pathway.  They can all be used flexibly, to meet the needs and interests of local families.

Peep TALK Training - planning a TALK session

Our training courses enable you to use Peep programmes and develop your skills to enhance your work with families, wherever you are based. Each course includes access to the programme’s content, session plans, handouts and delivery support.

We train practitioners and volunteers from many different sectors, including education, health and family support.  Courses are live online or in-person, and you can book individual places or a whole course.

“Peep has enabled our school to forge even earlier, positive relationships with our parents over the year before their children start school. Our Transition into school sessions using Peep have been well received by both new parents and parents with children already in school. It’s been lovely to see the children’s confidence grow as the sessions have progressed.”

Deputy Head, Primary School, Lancashire

"The Peep Antenatal training was fantastic, I'd definitely recommend it. Peep is so informative for expectant parents and I think every new parent would benefit from it."

Family Support Worker, Home-Start Caithness

"We love Peep, both of my boys have come from babies. I and they have gained so much. We sing the songs at bath time, teeth cleaning time and of course tidy up time, singing 'put the toys in the box' works every time. Thank you Peep."

Peep group parent

“The Peep training has been very inspiring. Approaching parents regarding how they can help at home can be daunting and Peep training has made me realise it isn't.” "We love Peep, both of my boys have come from babies. I and they have gained so much. We sing the songs at bath time, teeth cleaning time and of course tidy up time, singing 'put the toys in the box' works every time. Thank you Peep."

Tracey, Team Leader/SENDco, Lincolnshire
