Families Connect Programme transitions to Peeple

Aug 14, 2026 | News

Save the Children UK and Peeple are pleased to announce the successful completion of the handover of Families Connect, ensuring the continued growth and delivery of a programme that has supported thousands of families across the UK over the past decade.

Families Connect strengthens learning environments at home by building on parents’ existing skills and knowledge, giving them the confidence to support their child’s learning and development. The programme also strengthens relationships between families and schools, nurseries and children’s centres, while creating opportunities for parents to learn from and support one another.

The transition reflects the strong alignment between Save the Children and Peeple, with both organisations sharing a commitment to supporting children and families and recognising parents as their child’s first and most important educator. This shared ethos made Peeple the ideal organisation to take the programme forward.

Dan Paskins, Executive Director of UK Impact at Save the Children, said:

“Families Connect has had a lasting impact on children and families across the country, helping parents build confidence in supporting their child’s learning and strengthening connections between families and education settings. We are incredibly proud of what the programme has achieved over the last ten years and are delighted to see it move into its next chapter with Peeple.

Peeple’s expertise, values and commitment to working alongside families make them the perfect organisation to take Families Connect forward. We are confident the programme will continue to thrive and reach even more children and families in the years ahead.”

Dr Sally Smith, CEO of Peeple, said:

“We are delighted that Families Connect is now part of our portfolio of programmes at Peeple. Save the Children has created and supported a remarkable programme over the last ten years, helping thousands of families to support their children’s learning and development. We are hugely appreciative of that legacy and excited to build on it.

At Peeple, we believe that parents are children’s first and most important educators, so Peep Families Connect sits naturally alongside our existing work. We look forward to working with schools, communities and partners to ensure that even more children and families can benefit from the programme in the years ahead.”

Families Connect continues to be delivered successfully across the UK, and partners can be assured that the programme remains strong, active and available to support families, schools, nurseries and communities.
