Training for practitioners

Why Peep training?

Parents are their child’s first and most important educator. The experiences and relationships a child has in their first days, months and years influence their learning, behaviour and physical and mental health for the rest of their lives.

Our training provides professionals with evidence-based Peep programmes, strategies and resources to support parents and carers with their young children’s learning and development, from pregnancy to school.

As soon as you’ve completed your Peep training, you can log-in to use the session plans, handouts and delivery support to get started with your Peep groups, stay and plays or outreach. Peep programmes can be used flexibly to meet your local needs and priorities. All our programmes emphasise sharing simple, no or low-cost ideas that families can easily integrate into their daily lives.

Peep sessions provide an effective and enjoyable way to work in partnership with parents and carers to strengthen the home learning environment. They also help families get to know each other and develop strong support networks.

Who the training is for

We offer training for practitioners from all sectors working with families, including early years and education, health, and family support. Our approach values and builds on your existing knowledge and skills. Watch our video to see how organisations are using Peep programmes.

Where you can find or book training

We provide training through face-to-face or live online courses across the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Whether you want an in-house course for your staff, to book a place on an open course, or a Peep Training the Trainer Agreement to train your own staff, we have options to suit your needs.

I’d definitely recommend the Peep Learning Together Training - fun programme, lots to think about and different ways to engage with parents and their children.”

Parenting Support Practitioner, Luton

I thoroughly enjoyed the course and I was not really expecting to as it was online. I think that Peep is a wonderfully flexible, accessible resource which can be used to develop and enhance what we already do as practitioners and what parents do every day."

Catherine, Family support worker, County Fermanagh

I found the Peep Antenatal training really useful to learn how to deliver a perinatal programme that focuses in on key aspects and in a parent-friendly/ baby-friendly way. A great learning experience – it gave me a structured framework to use which is evidence-based but also flexible in the delivery of it."
