A little about Playgroup Victoria
Playgroup Victoria is a not-for-profit, incorporated association committed to helping all families within the state of Victoria, Australia, discover the benefits of playgroup. As the state’s peak body for playgroups, Playgroup Victoria advocates for the value of play in a child’s early years of learning and development, and act as a support base for communities and families wanting to start and successfully run a playgroup.
Every week, thousands of playgroups meet across Victoria, bringing together around 40,000 children from 30,000 families to play, connect and grow – in community halls, kindergartens, schools, maternal and child health centres and beyond. Whether it’s a general community playgroup or a group built around a shared interest – from dads’ groups to nature playgroups – Playgroup Victoria is there to help families find their place and build lasting connections.
Playgroup Victoria has spent over 50 years championing the simple but powerful idea that connection, community and play in the early years benefit the whole community.
PeepLTP around Australia
There are currently more than 1,000 PeepLTP trained practitioners in Australia. As a flexible programme, PeepLTP is used in diverse early years settings by professionals from a wide range of backgrounds and experience. Peep supports families as both a standalone programme or intervention as well as complementing other interventions and programmes already being used. For example, some practitioners may use PeepLTP content/materials to support conversations with a family on a specific topic or challenge that they are experiencing. Others may run a community playgroup bringing in Peep topics as needed. Other PeepLTP practitioners deliver PeepLTP groups, delivering the programme weekly, or using PeepLTP in 1:1 and in home support.
PeepLTP is currently delivered by a diversity of professionals and sectors nationally including:
